Lifter

Lofi indie-folk outfit Lifter have been releasing music and playing shows since the end of 2021 and have become the focus of singer Harry Fanshawe since the breakup of Modern Rituals at the end of 2022. Also featuring Angus Rudd of the Death of Pop, the band released a collection of their first eight singles, “Everything So Far”, on September 27th. This release reflects the lofi indie rock sound of the band’s early days, in the vein of Guided by Voices or Sebadoh; their newer material, however, has been honing in on a folkier, lighter, pastoral sound.

Having completed their second UK tour of 2023—both successful tours that included dates at Hull’s Adelphi, London’s Cavendish Arms, Manchester’s Peer Hat, Oxford’s Jericho Tavern, Bristol’s Rough Trade, London’s Victoria, and Newport’s Le Pub amongst others—the band are now focusing on finishing their next single and accompanying video with Sam Wisternoff (Pictish Trail, Rachel Dadd, Seamus Fogarty). Additionally, they have a whole new set of songs in the process of being recorded for their next release, as well as an accompanying live session, filmed at Bristol’s famed guitar shop, Electric Ladyland.

Free entry, music from 9pm.
